GAO is going in!

Wow... I wasn't expecting that. I doubt many other readers were too. It makes sense though... Gao is much more of a hotblooded shonen character than Kurita.
Though, judging by how ridiculously overpowered Mr. Don is, I stick to my original decision: Kurita and Gao are going to have to tag team Mr. Don. ... Don is A rank in Speed and technique too?
Earlier, I thought that Gao just lost to Don because he got hit with a palm smash in the face... basically showing that Don is much faster than Gao, and seems to have better fighting technique. However, chapter 319 has made it clear that his strength level far outclasses Kurita and Gao as well.
I don't think Delta Dynamite will be enough to beat Mr. Don, because Don has A level technique, Don will probably be able to use DD too. DDD? Still, I expect Gao's Delta Dynamite will be enough to blow Don away ONCE... which will give Sena a chance to go for a touchdown... which will be blocked by Panther.

Well, anyhow, Hiruma can just inform Kid of his trick plays, and leave it up to Kid's quickdraw... but we all know that Hiruma wouldn't show a lack of guts like that, right? :)

Miyata Vs Randy

This is stupid.

I think it's rather BLATANTLY obvious that Randy has fallen into a pattern where he is countering Miyata with purely with lefts. (before this, Miyata couldn't counter cause he could not tell what punch was coming)

So Miyata will counter his counter.

And end the fight with 1 punch.

...

Stupid.

...

Either that, or the counter-counter will fail, leaving Miyata down and out. But... I don't think so. If Miyata doesn't make a magical comeback at this point, it makes his dad look like a moron.

Blatantly obvious that Miyata is going to win now.

Cause if he loses due to serious injury at this point, his dad has to commit harakiri to make up for his decision to let him keep fighting.

Eyeshield 21 projections.

Meh... personally, I think that Taka as an offensive receiver is near unbeatable... having Monta do it is just being silly? When you have so many ace receivers, you should match up your players to your opponents... and their opponent seems to be a "Muscle" type receiver?

Poor Gaou... though I think the absolute monster that is Mr. Don might merit Gaou + Kurita double teaming him.

Actually, I think that Mr. Don might merit the entire offensive line of Deimon dogpiling him at once.
I mean, America's RECEIVER outmuscled 5 of Japan's strength type players at once. How strong would their LINEBACKER be?

...

As for Panther... hmm.... I doubt that Sena can 1v1 him. But... can Panther get past Sena from the left, Riku from the right, and Shin coming at him head on? ... I DON'T FREAKING THINK SO!!!

Add Shin on, and I don't think Panther can get past at all!

And if Japan keeps using the "which runner has the ball" trick... how do you stop Shin, Riku, Sena and Yamato running through different parts of the field at the same time? Even Panther can only choose to stop 1 out of 3 of them... assuming he CAN stop Shin. Or Yamato's Caesar Charge???

Actually... this seems to be the key to winning for Team Japan. And the entire moral of ANY team sport:

TEAMWORK beats INDIVIDUAL PLAY.

...

Seriously, America might have the Pentagon: 5 nigh unbeatable ace players. However, Team Japan is an entire full team of all star players.

Though that would be rather boring for the mangaka to write, I guess.

Still... if he doesn't write it that way, it makes Hiruma look like a dumbass.

...

This is pretty much the opposite of Deimon's early matches. Before this, Deimon was a generally weak team with an Ace Runner, an Ace Quarterback, an Ace receiver, an Ace kicker, 1 Ace lineman. Now, America seems to have 5 super Aces players, vs Japan's team of top level players.

Eyeshield 308 - current team and future predictions!

Er... well the lineup that's announced is surprising...

Some people said that Hiruma would only be on the team due to popularity. Er, well, I might have insinuated that he would be better as a coach... I have reconsidered. Hiruma is average in many categories... EXCEPT his intelligence and cunning which is the highest in the series... and ALSO his shooting and passing skills. In case none of you remember, his Devil Laser Bullet is possibly the highest velocity pass in the series, and it's accuracy is equal to Kid's. He is slower than kid to actually throw it, however if he has Gaou, Kurita, Oogawara, Hercules, and SHIN SEIJUROU as his defensive shield linemen, I see no reason that should matter... I don't think it's going to be easy to break that line and sack Hiruma.
So, I would say that Hiruma really would be Kid's equal in general, but they are better than each other depending on the situation.

Why are there so many inferior linemen on the Japan team? I mean, all this time, Kurita, Gaou, Heracles, Banba, and Otawara have been Lineman playing both offence and defence. Why in the world would you split them up? Unless they feel that the linemen would not have the stamina to handle it? ... I'm sorry I just see no reason to have Mizumachi and Achilles as lineman when you could have Kurita or Heracles in their place.

Also... Taka is on defence? They're not using him to catch passes??? ... Are you serious???

Riku is not on Offence? Really???

Generally, they've got the correct players... but their positions are rather weird!!!

Well... actually, I don't know what Sakuraba is doing there. I mean, he's definitely a great player now. But Taka renders him absolutely obsolete. I mean, his advantage was that he was much taller than Monta. But I don't think his height means ANYTHING against the American team... American team, Japanese team, height difference?

And Tetsuma too... his railroad run might be good against opponent's who are weaker than he is, but if the Americans have players as strong as Ootawara or Kurita, I think they can stop his run quite easily.

I call it as the mangaka's problem here, since Deimon and their opponent's only had a limited number of Aces all this time. Now he doesn't know how to juggle so many good players.

Personally, I would do what any GOOD coach does, and match my lineup to my opponents. For instance if I want to stop Panther, I would definitely have to put Shin and Agon to mark him... Agon might not be as fast, but if he can get in Panther's path, his perfect reflexes won't let him past. Shin is as fast as Riku and Sena, and his defence is much better too.

...

Who the heck is the mummy man??? I... haven't figured that out yet. For the moment, I'm going to say it's Unsui, brother of Agon. ... Actually, I'm surprised than Unsui didn't make the team, IIRC, Unsui is a very very strong player worthy of being an ace, if it were not for Agon eclipsing him.

What can Chuubo do? Well... I'd say it has something to do with how he runs, since he is shown dashing towards Yamato, and that dash alone is enough to amaze Yamato and Taka.
I think that he's the 4th person on the team with the 4.2 second lightspeed run. (Sena, Riku, Shin are the other 3)
Since he's on the offensive line, I would guess that he was also physically strong enough to impress Yamato.
In other words, I think Chuubo's job in the line up is: break through and sack the quarterback before he can pass.
I'm almost certain of this fact, actually, but we'll have to wait and see!

As for Agon, my bet is that he's going to challenge the "regular" members to a match with his newly formed team, with places on the team at stake. This is practically sports manga tradition. Hahaha.

Looking forward to it!

Liar Game - Yokoya's clairvoyance.

Well, it's obvious at this point that Kikuzawa has sold out his team and is now acting under Yokoya's orders...

So, what will happen? They'll just have to make Kikuzawa feed them false information.

Done.

Eyeshield 21 Dream Team

To be updated as I go along...

The World Cup Bowl is coming!

Who's going to be on the new team? Obviously, not everyone from Deimon will make it. Sorry, obviously I love the entire Deimon team, but if you wanna compare 1 huh-huh brother vs Gao... there IS no comparison. My guess who is in:

Quarterback:

Kid

Hiruma=substitute

Coach:

All coaches + Himura. Yeah. He's just not as good a quarterback as Kid is, he won't be needed unless Kid is injured. His tactics are #1 though.

Running Backs:

Shin Seijuro
Riku

Sena Kobayakawa

Takeru Yamato

Agon Kongo
Ishimaru --> what's he doing here? Even he himself doesn't know. In reality, in a super all star team, the Shadowless God Of Death is at his peak. No one will even notice him. ... until he crosses the touchdown line.

Receiver:

Monta Raimon
Honjo Taka

Ikkyu Hosakawa

Linemen:

Otowara

Rikiya Gao

Hayato Akaba
Shin Seijuro
Mamoru Banba
Takeru Yamato

Gondayu Yamabushi

Kicker:

Kotaro

Musashi

A smart coach would switch them around depending on distance and whether power or consistancy is required.
